Seasoned communications professional with extensive public relations, marketing and advertising experience, event planning expertise, and proven ability in social media strategy.

LEADERSHIP

Currently, I run my own PR firm where I work with several local nonprofits and small businesses on their PR goals and strategies. I also consult and partner with several local agencies in Memphis including Key Public Strategies and Loaded for Bear.

In my previous role at Memphis Tourism Corp, I managed a team of three with our main charge being to drum up positive PR coverage and exposure for the city of Memphis. My team was responsible for pitching local, regional, national and international media. We were also in charge of hosting all incoming media.

Before that, in my role at Church Health, I managed a team of four people who covered the disciplines of graphic design, social media, video and writing. My team serviced the creative needs of the entire organization. I also pitched story ideas to local and national print, radio and television reporters as well as oversaw content for the e-newsletter, newsletter, direct mail and social media. My team also worked on a center wide re-brand and marketing plan. I also created a film department, implementing video projects with both staff and volunteers.

Organized/Founded Rock for Love, a benefit concert for the Church Health Center, created in 2007. Recruited and built sponsorships as well as planned, organized and implemented production of Rock for Love initiatives.

I was also responsible for writing and editing newsworthy stories and managing crisis situations as they arose.

RESULTS

• Social media followers have doubled since first creating social media presence(s) for Playback Memphis.
• Landed and placed articles in local media for my clients including Teach for America – Memphis, the Memphis Medical District Collaborative, Playback Memphis, The Memphis Brooks Museum, Edge Alley, Mempops, Long Road Cider, Neighborhood Preservation, Inc., the Urban Land Institute and more.
• At the MCVB I was responsible for landing and placing articles in the Globe & Mail, Huffington Post, the Washington Times and multiple regional and national travel blogs.
• Built Rock for Love into a multi-day, multi-event showcase of Memphis’ best musical talent raising revenue from $7,500 in year one to $50,000 last year. After a decade, Rock for Love has raised a quarter of a million dollars for Church Health.
• Freelance Writer for local publications High Ground News, Edible Memphis, Memphis Parent and Tennessee Craft Beer Magazine.
• Performer and musician in the MTV television series $5 Cover. Musician and composer with local bands Me & Leah and Snowglobe.
